Help School Psychology Grow

We are all aware of the current shortage of School Psychologists, both nationally and here in Florida. With a limited number of people available to perform the activities traditionally associated with our position, it becomes all the more difficult to expand our role, regardless of our training, our interests, or the needs of the students we serve.

It is imperative that we attract more students to pursue graduate training in our field, and one of the best ways for this to happen is for FASP members to speak to interested groups. Presentations to students both at the high school and undergraduate college level; presentations to graduate students in related fields; presentations to public and private school school faculties. Any of these may spark an interest that could lead to someone deciding to become a School Psychologist.

In order to help you more easily make these presentations, FASP has "pre-packaged" all the material you will need. Below you will find links to three items: a PowerPoint presentation; a "black-line" version of the same presentation suitable to be made into acitate overhead slides; and a complete set of "talking points" that provide you with a script to follow. Even if you are not used to public speaking you should be able to do this because ALL THE WORK HAS BEEN DONE FOR YOU!

Download these items and you will be prepared to help our profession...and yourself.
