2025-2026 CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

The FASP Executive Board provides oversight of the business and affairs of the association. The Executive Board consists of elected officers (president, president-elect, past president, treasurer, secretary, and seven regional representatives), standing committee chairs, special committee chairs, student delegate, Children’s Services Fund, Inc. liaison, and NASP delegate. FASP’s lobbyists and the DOE school psychology consultant are invited to attend as non-voting delegates.

FASP is seeking nominations for dedicated individuals to serve on the FASP Executive Board! Your nominations play a crucial role in shaping the future of our organization and advancing the field of school psychology statewide.

We encourage you to nominate outstanding candidates who are committed to enhancing the well-being and academic success of students across Florida. Together, let’s build a strong leadership team to move our association forward! Submit your nominations today. Serving as an elected officer on the FASP board is an excellent opportunity to have a voice in the work of our profession.

To Nominate: All members may nominate and self-nominate for one or more positions. A nominee must be a current FASP member and be willing to serve the term length denoted for the open position.

FASP is now accepting nominations for the following positions:

  • President-Elect: The President serves a three-year term. In year one, the President-Elect exercises general supervision over the Annual Conference in addition to other assigned duties. In year two, the President-Elect becomes President with the primary role of facilitating all operating procedures of FASP. In year three, the President becomes Immediate Past-President and serves in a supportive role to the incoming President while overseeing the elections process and chairing the bylaws committee. This position requires an average of 4-8 hours per week with the greater time involved as it gets closer to conference time. The year as President requires an average of 8 hours of volunteer time per week. Finally, the year of the Immediate Past-President requires an average of 3 hours per week of volunteer time.
  • Regional Representative: Each Regional Representative serves a two-year term and acts as liaison between the membership within their region and the Executive Board. Only members residing in the respective counties may nominate or be a nominee for the region. This position requires an average of 2-3 hours per quarter of volunteer time.

Nominations are being accepted for the following regions:

    • Region 2 – Northeast: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Marion, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Suwannee, Union, Volusia
    • Region 4 – West Central: Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk
    • Region 6 – Southeast: Broward, Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, St. Lucie

Note: In addition to position-specific responsibilities, all Executive Board members are required to attend board meetings (currently monthly) and participate in board-level workgroups.

In addition, Children’s Services Fund, Inc. donors are eligible to vote for CSFI board members. For the 2025-2026 year, there will be three open board seats.

President

The office of President is a three-year term. The individual elected as President-Elect serves one year in that role, one year as President, and one year as Immediate Past President.

  • The President-Elect fills the role of the President in their absence or if they are unable to continue the role. In addition, the President-Elect provides supervision for the Annual Conference Committee. The President-Elect transitions to the role of President at the close of the Annual Conference business meeting.
  • The President provides general supervision for the association, serves as chair of the Executive Board, and serves as an ex-officio member of all committees except the Nominating and Elections Committee.
  • The Immediate Past President serves as the Nominating and Elections Committee Chair and the Bylaws Committee Chair.

Regional Representative

The office of Regional Representative is a two-year term. The role of each Regional Representative is to represent and advocate for members in their designated geographical area.

  • Region 1 – Northwest: Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton, Washington.
  • Region 2 – Northeast: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Marion, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Suwannee, Union, Volusia
  • Region 3 – East Central: Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter.
  • Region 4 – West Central: Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk
  • Region 5 – Southwest: Charlotte, Collier, Desoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Lee, Manatee, Sarasota
  • Region 6 – Southeast: Broward, Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, St. Lucie
  • Region 7 – South: Dade, Monroe.
